DESCRIPTION:ACCESS ONLINE SYMPOSIUM HERE\n\n\n\n\nPROGRAM UPDATE  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou are cordially invited to the Workplace Pride 2020 Online Symposium. With the theme of” Great expectations\, Envisioning a new decade of LGBTI Workplace Inclusion”\, the symposium will take a thorough look at both of the challenges and the opportunities for our community and for workplaces in the coming 10 years. Against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic\, this topic takes on a new urgency which will be addressed throughout the symposium.  \n\n\n\nParticipants will learn from LGBTI workplace pioneer Claudia Brind-Woody about progress over the years and her vision for the future and take part in the signing of the Declaration of Amsterdam by Unilever CEO\, Alan Jope. They will also have the opportunity to choose from four different breakout sessions looking at such diverse topics as:  \n\n\n\nEconomic LGBTI competitiveness of cities\, Hurdles and possibilities for the LGBTI community in Europe\, Practical applications of the UN LGBTI Standards of Conduct for Business\,The vision of young LGBTI professionals for the coming decade.  \n\n\n\nScroll below to see the full program. \n\n\n\nThe symposium is free and open to all\, however it is required to register ahead of time. Thoughts and advice for the coming decade” \n\n\n\nBreakouts: Sessions run simultaneously and participants may choose which one to attend.  \n\n\n\n1. “ What is the future for LGBTI progress in Europe?” \n\n\n\nWith their annual Rainbow Map just being published\, ILGA Europe knows better than most about the situation for LGBTI people across the continent. This breakout  looks at some of the challenges currently facing our community and how the interaction with employers is on the brink of change.  \n\n\n\nHosted by:  \n\n\n\nEvelyne Paradis and Anna Shepherd\, ILGA Europe.\n\n\n\n2. “ How inclusive and competitive is your city?” \n\n\n\nAmsterdam has scored highest in the world on the new Open for Business report showing that LGBT+ inclusion is a key ingredient in urban economic resilience and competitiveness This breakout session\, details their findings about the relationship between this quality and a city’s GDP per capita\, innovation potential\, ability to attract talent\, and quality of life.  \n\n\n\nHosted by:  \n\n\n\nDrew Keller and Kathryn Dovey\, Open for Business\n\n\n\n\n3. “From Advocacy to Action” – using the UN LGBTI Standards to build a more inclusive workplace \n\n\n\nIn this session\, we will focus on the Workplace Pride UN LGBTI Standards Toolkit which were launched last month. Graham Sparks\, Workplace Pride Foundation Advisory Board Member will provide an overview of the Toolkit and host a dialogue with leaders from our member companies who are using this new tool to improve LGBTI workplace inclusion. \n\n\n\nHosted by:  \n\n\n\nGraham Sparks; Joyce Peirsman\, Dow; and Pedro Kuijt Rumayor\, Shell\n\n\n\n4. “Will your company attract young talent in the future?” – Research on the future of LGBTI+ inclusion in the workplace by Young@Workplace Pride                                                                                                                                   \n\n\n\nIn this session\, we will report on the top three expectations of students and young professionals have for potential future employers based on conversations with three experience groups.
