Specifically\, we will explore success stories how queer and female students & staff thrive in the male dominated\, heteronormative world of education and academia.  \n\n\n\nThere will be time to ask burning questions during the panel session hosted by Academia@Workplace Pride lead Michiel Kolman (he/him) and Women@Workplace Pride lead Angelique Meul. \n\n\n\nHave you seen: https://vu.nl/en/news/2023/response-after-dutch-election-result \n\n\n\nProgram: \n\n\n\n11:30 – 12.00 Doors open12.00 – 13.00 Panel discussion with Dr. Ajay Jagadeesh\, lecturer TU Delft\, vice-chair True U (he/him)\,                        Nova Duwel\, student and chair of the board SV Queer Saxion (they/them) and Chantal van der Putten\, board member of Student Pride (she/her)13.00 – 14:00 Lunch  \n\n\n\n\nRegister Today\n\n\n\n\nPurple Friday is a day on which pupils and students can show their solidarity with LGBTIQ+ people by wearing the colour purple at school. In the Netherlands\, the day has been held on the second Friday of December every year since 2010. Purple Friday was inspired by Spirit Day in the United States\, which was first held in 2010 as an expression against bullying of LGBTIQ+ youth. \n\n\n\nPurple Friday is traditionally celebrated at schools but over the last couple of years\, we’ve seen that higher education\, and the corporate workplaces are embracing this celebration of solidarity with the LGBTIQ+ community.

SUMMARY:Baker McKenzie Roundtable
DESCRIPTION:Invite Only \n\n\n\nMany of us work in a fast paced culture that demands high performance. It canbe challenging to carve out time to contribute to Inclusion Diversity & Equity(ID&E) initiatives in the organizations we work for\, and even more so in law firmsand consultancies that work with a billable hours model. If there are only somany hours a week an employee can spend on non-billable work\, how do wekeep them engaged on ID&E amidst other non-client work that demands theirattention?Workplace Pride has partnered with Baker McKenzie to discuss this challenge ina round-table breakfast session. We would like to share experiences with ID&Especialists in law\, consultancy firms and other organisations to learn from eachother which work-arounds and solutions are effective\, and wrap up with practicaltake-aways.Save the Date:Title: Driving Inclusion in High-Performance CultureSubtitle: Embedding ID&E in the billable hours modelWhen: 8th December 2023\, 09:00 – 10:30Where: Baker McKenzie Head Offices\, Amsterdam (In-person event only)For: ID&E professionals in billable hours organisationsInterested?
